OPERA NEWS ARTICLE ON ELLEN FAULL (excerpt)

The article, "Only Connect," written by DAVID SCHIFF, is found in the VOICE TALK section of the February, 1999 edition of Opera News

"Ellen Faull's home in Camas, Washington, overlooks an idyllic lake and commands a picture-postcard view of Mount Hood, but for all its serenity, there is no doubt that her studio
is at the center of the opera world.  Portland International Airport is just fifteen minutes away,
and students fly in from afar for lessons.

Faull moved from Manhattan to the Northwest in 1994 to be near her daughter Judith (and, since 1997, her twin granddaughters, Sarah and Rachael).  In New York, she had a double career as a star of New York City Opera... noted for her performances of Mozart and Verdi, and creating "Abigale" in Jack Beeson's Lizzie Borden... and as a leading voice teacher, whose students have included Dawn Upshaw, Ashley Putnam, Faye Robinson, Veronica Villarroel and Gianna Rolandi."
